Creative Kickstart

Creative Kickstart is a new industry-designed programme providing tailored business support, mentoring and advice to hundreds of creative companies that are looking to grow. It emerged from the historic Creative Industries Sector Deal, and is powered by a unique partnership between the Creative Industries Council and the Creative Industries Federation.

Working alongside public investment from the Cultural Development Fund and Creative Scale-Up programme, Creative Kickstart will target up to 8 key areas through a series of high profile workshops and mentoring opportunities.

These areas are Wakefield, Plymouth, Canterbury / Thames Estuary, Worcester, Grimsby, the West of England, the West Midlands, and Greater Manchester.

Live Workshops

Our first workshop took place in Wakefield on Wednesday 4 September, 2019. Wakefield Council supported us to bring Creative Kickstart to the city as part of their commitment to investing in Wakefield’s flourishing creative industries. Around 60 creative enterprises from across Wakefield and its surrounding regions heard from experts and experienced business-leaders on how to value their creative assets, develop a strong business plan, and access the right finance.

Our next workshops will be taking place in Plymouth on Monday 15 and Thursday 18 June. The workshops will cover An Introduction to Crowdfunding, and Producing Creative Digital Experiences. Find our more below.

Bringing humans together to produce amazing creative digital experiences
Thursday 18 June, 12.30pm

Creating teams to make immersive digital experiences can be an brilliant experience - but it also comes with its own stresses and strains when we try to be innovate and deliver as a group. Using a hypothetical immersive technology project, Christopher Hunt, Creative Technologist at Controlled Frenzy takes you through insights and research while diving into a messy world of “wetware” - the people at the heart of any experience.
